Horticulture Code

From 14 May 2007 the Horticulture Code will come into effect as a prescribed industry code of conduct under the Act.

The purpose of the Horticulture Code is to regulate trading of horticulture produce in the horticulture produce industry. The Horticulture Code encourages greater clarity and commercial transparency in trade transactions between growers and wholesale traders (traders) by clarifying the responsibilities and obligations of each. The Horticulture Code also provides an effective and inexpensive way of resolving disputes that may arise between growers and traders as an alternative to litigation.
